The Saging Way

The Saging Way is a coaching approach thoughtfully designed to provide exercises, tools, new perspectives, mindset shifts and the grace to navigate this new terrain. Here’s why:

CHANGE often feels like something that happens “to us,” becoming a victim of circumstance, powerless and stuck.

TRANSITION is an intentional internal journey; a conscious choice to apply our well-earned wisdom and learn ways to adapt to a paradigm shift.

How it works. We will meet virtually or in person twice a month, for an hour. Each month, we will have a theme we will focus on with field-work between sessions, intertwined with the topics you want to discuss. Our dialogue will include:

• Rebuilding your foundation built on values • Recognizing & celebrating your strengths

• Letting go, to let in • The identity shift & rewriting your story

• Acceptance vs resistance • Redefining meaning & purpose

• The neuroscience of a new habit • Gaining momentum & keeping it alive

Change is inevitable; and when we are conscious of the tools we have to manage it, we learn to confidently navigate and even accept it. Adopting and embracing change is not for the faint of heart, I will hold you accountable for your commitment and even hold you higher than you may hold yourself. Together, we will peek over the edge and identify the transition ahead.

The Origin Story

Once a hardcore mountain athlete, I have been curious about how this driven culture will evolve over time given the physical demands of our various sports.  These passions are often our obsessions, and once we either opt out by choice or are faced with an injury, illness or other unplanned life event, then what?

With this consideration came a profound identity shift for me. If I’m not an ice climber, ski patroller or mountain guide, who am I? Many of us have made a living utilizing our skills and passions, so replacing and reinventing, can be quite a daunting journey, especially later in life.

As a tribute to the athlete’s dilemma, I started asking myself these questions and produced this short film, Over the Edge, with my good friend, Drew Semel. I found myself wanting to have a new conversation; so I sold my women’s ice climbing business called “Chicks with Picks” in pursuit of taking my leadership and coaching skills to the next level. I set my sights on the corporate world in leadership development and executive coaching, which became my new edge.
